SMCo Thrift will host a regional thrift training conference June 8, 2026,  focused on equipping leaders in the industry to Do Thrift Better. 

This one-day conference, held the day before the annual Citygate Conference in Grand Rapids, is designed specifically for thrift stores and nonprofit operators looking to enhance their strategy and operations.

The day will focus on four key pillars—Product, Process, People, and Property—through structured sessions, practical insights, and real-world application, along with time for Q&A and networking. With many attendees already traveling in for the conference, it’s a convenient opportunity to gain additional value, connect with peers, and walk away with actionable takeaways to strengthen your social enterprise.

There will be no refunds inside 14 days of the conference start date. If canceling outside of 14 days, a 50% will be refunded to the card that was used to register. We are unable to transfer registration to future events.

Our conference is being held at Hyatt Place Grand Rapids/Downtown – 140 Ottawa Ave NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. This is just a short 5-minute walk away from the Citygate Conference host hotel, Amway Grand Plaza – 187 Monroe Ave NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
